Butter Cookies

Butter cookies are very light, tasty and quick to make. They go really well with hot cup of tea or coffee. It is also a sure hit with the kids.


Ingredients:

  • 250 gms butter at room temperature
  • 1/3 cup icing sugar mixture sifted
  • 1 1/2 cup plain flour/ maida
  • 1/2 cup cornflour
Method:
  1. Take butter in a bowl and add icing sugar mix. Beat well until smooth.
  2. Sift plain flour and cornflour together. Add to butter.
  3. Mix well until everything comes together.
  4. Take spoonful of mixture in palms and shape it like a ball.
  5. Place it on a greased baking tray. Similarly make more balls with rest of the mixture.
  6. Now press the ball gently with a fork and make the design of strips.
  7. Bake them in 180°C preheated oven for 12 minutes.
  8. Remove and cool on wired rack.
  9. Store in air tight container.
