Butter cookies are very light, tasty and quick to make. They go really well with hot cup of tea or coffee. It is also a sure hit with the kids.

- 250 gms butter at room temperature
- 1/3 cup icing sugar mixture sifted
- 1 1/2 cup plain flour/ maida
- 1/2 cup cornflour
Method:
- Take butter in a bowl and add icing sugar mix. Beat well until smooth.
- Sift plain flour and cornflour together. Add to butter.
- Mix well until everything comes together.
- Take spoonful of mixture in palms and shape it like a ball.
- Place it on a greased baking tray. Similarly make more balls with rest of the mixture.
- Now press the ball gently with a fork and make the design of strips.
- Bake them in 180°C preheated oven for 12 minutes.
- Remove and cool on wired rack.
- Store in air tight container.
